Catherine Sun – RUNNING TRIBE Founder

Catherine Sun is the Founder of the RUNNING TRIBE Co., Ltd., a Chinese company focused on promoting running in China. Graduated from Law schools of Peking University and the George Washington University,  Ms. Sun is qualified to practice law in US, Hong Kong and Mainland China.  She published numerous books on Intellectual Property and assumed managerial role of large law firms overseeing responsibilities in Asia Pacific region.  Ms. Sun is the first Chinese who has been named in the Intellectual Asset Management IAM Strategy 300-World Leading IP Strategist from 2011 to 2017.

Ms. Sun started running in 2012.  A Guinness World Record holder, she has completed close to 100 marathons, including the World Marathon Challenge (7 marathons 7 Days in 7 Continents), Marathon Des Sables, Inca Trail Marathon, and Mount Everest Marathon, to name a few.  In 2015, she was the first Chinese amateur woman who has run marathons on 7 continents.

On October 7th, 2017, Ms. Sun completed the 800K Camino De Santiago French Way in 16 days, covering on average 50k per day.  Ms. Sun’s next challenge will be the Kilimanjaro Extreme Marathon, the highest marathon in the world.

Ms. Sun has been leading the  100 Marathon Project in China since 2015, the goal is to host 100 marathons in 100 cultural diversified places in China, to invite 1 million people to run within 10 years.
