#Kilithon’s Doctor

Ania Gregorczyk is the #Kilithon Doctor who will be responsible for all participants during the 5 day trek to the summit and will be coordinate emergency medical services during the marathon. Due to the Rules and Regulations the event’s Doctor has the rights & abilities to make final and indisputable decision about the recall any of the participants, including #Kilithon staff in case of medical issues during the event. Thus, the #Kilithon Doctor will also coordinate emergency rescue procedure.
Ania represents the Polish Medical Mission – Kilimanjaro Extreme Marathon partner.

Possible emergency situations will be serviced by Flying Doctors – the devision of AMREF, the biggest medical service organization in Africa. AMREF Flying Doctors is the largest and best-known international air ambulance services provider in the region. AMREF Flying Doctors provides air evacuation services in medical emergencies across East Africa, as well as air ambulance transfers between medical facilities. They provide air ambulance services and operate across many East African countries including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and when clearance can be obtained, most neighboring countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Burundi.

Onsite Medical & Evacuation Assistance

The onsite medical services will be supported by the local medical staff (Moshi Hospital) located at the finish line of the #Kilithon (ambulance included) – the Kilimanjaro National Park gate. Up to the 20km of the marathon route will be supported by Kilimanjaro National Park Rangers with offroad cars. On the rest of the marathon route the trek will be monitored by more Park Rangers and Kilimanjaro Guides.
